The absolute majority for Islamic group Hamas in the Palestinian elections is heartening. It proves that even militant groups can come into the mainstream, participate in elections and win the people's mandate. Such popular support will ultimately pave the way for their giving up arms. There is a lesson for the naxalites and Kashmiri separatists back home.
