Dictionary for accurate reading of inscriptions

Santiniketan: The Indian Council of Historical Research will soon come out with a dictionary of inscriptions to check inaccurate reading of ancient Indian inscriptions that could lead to distortion of history. The novel dictionary will end any discrepancy in reading signs and symbols inscribed in ancient languages .

"The idea is to create a compendium that takes care of all regional variations in the analysis of these inscriptions abounding in the Indian sub-continent. The dictionary will be the first authentic, one-stop solution for archaeologists, archivists and historians," member-secretary of the ICHR P.K. Shukla said here.
