Multimedia campaign begins

TIRUNELVELI : Work on construction of Vandal Odai in the district would commence shortly, the Minister for Industries, Nainar Nagendran, said here on Sunday.

Inaugurating the State Government's multimedia campaign to popularise schemes of the State Government and the rural youth sports meet at Nadukkallur near here, Mr. Nagendran said the Tamil Nadu Government had allocated Rs. 6.14 crore for the project to irrigate 409 acres of land.

The multimedia campaign would be conducted in all panchayat unions in the district as the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, was executing a range of rural development programmes in all villages to improve the standard of life of rural masses.

The Minister released a souvenir detailing the achievements of the State Government during the past four and a half years. The Collector, Atul Anand, received the first copy.
