KOZHIKODE: All arrangements have been completed for the ninth State Vocational Higher Secondary School (HSS) Arts Festival at the JDT Islam Vocational HSS here from January 30 to February 1. Minister for Forest and Environment A. Sujanapal will inaugurate the festival at 4 p.m. on Monday. T.P.M. Zahir, MLA, will preside over the inaugural function. More than 2,000 students from seven regions in the State will compete in 66 items at the festival. Vocational Higher Secondary Education (VHSE) Director Sajith Vijayaraghavan will hoist the flag at 9 a.m. on Monday at the festival venue. The competitions will start at 2 p.m. on six venues in JDT Islam Vocational HSS.
Procession
A colourful procession will be organised from NGO Quarters premises to the main venue. The main stage, which can accommodate more than 1,000 people, has been completed. A dining hall, which can accommodate 700 people, has been also set up. VHSE Assistant Director T.H. Vijayaraghavan inaugurated the media centre on Sunday. The councillor P.T. Vasunnikurup presided over the function.
