Pondicherry: A large number of devotees thronged the seashore in Pondicherry to offer worship to the deities of a number of shrines brought for theerthavari on the occasion of Thai Ammavasai on Sunday. The idols of different shrines were earlier taken in a procession through main thoroughfares for the holding of special poojas and aradhanas after theerthavari on the seashore. Devotees also had a dip in the sea.
