Deportation of militant put off
AMBALA:
The deportation of a Babbar Khalsa militant, wanted in connection with a plot to kill the former Haryana Chief Minister, Bhajan Lal, in 1995 has been put off after he filed an appeal in a London court.
Purushottam Singh's deportation was stalled on Saturday after he filed an appeal against it, Senior Superintendent of Police (Ambala) Rajbir Deswal said here on Sunday.
A team of the Ambala police went to Delhi to receive Singh but returned after the development, the SSP said.
Interpol had issued a red corner notice for Singh and informed the Ministry of External Affairs of his arrest. PTI
