Bangalore: Controllerate of Inspection Electronics (CIL) defeated AGORC 4-3 in a George Hoover Cup super-division league match at the Football Stadium here on Sunday. Jayakar, Kanickaraj, Murugan and Sebastian scored for the victors while Vinod, Arvind and Sendhil chipped in for AGORC. Earlier in an `A' division match, Sai's brace guided Nationals to a 2-1 victory over Dharmaraja Union. Rajan's 88th minute effort helped Dharmaraja Union strike its lone goal.
Titan SC triumphs
Titan Sports Club emerged champion in the KSCA Group II, third division knockout tournament. The scores (final): NAL Staff Club 87 in 26.4 overs (Nazir 5 for 22, Kittuswamy 4 for 9) and 208 for six in 30 overs (Mehboob 58) lost to Titan SC 435 for six in 55 overs (Bharath 182, Nazir 74, John 59, Sundaraj 42).
SWAB Function
The Sports Writers Association of Bangalore's (SWAB) annual awards function will be held at Hotel Atria here on Monday morning. The State's best sportspersons for the year 2005, will be honoured by the sports scribes.
