Ernakulam maintains lead in HSS festival

Thrissur, Kannur districts follow in second and third positions; festival to conclude today

THALASSERY: Ernakulam district continued to maintain its lead on the third day of the State Higher Secondary School Youth Festival here on Sunday, while Thrissur and Kannur districts followed in second and third position respectively. Ernakulam maintained its lead through out the event with a tally of 276 points when results were announced in 67 items. Thrissur district had a tally of 261 points and Kannur 248 points to reach third place in the race for overall championship at the festival, which concludes on Monday.

The main attractions of the four-day cultural extravaganza were the stage items performed at the main venue at the Municipal Stadium.

The winners of the various contests are as follows:

Chendamelam: Sreenadh K. (Government HSS, Kuttamath), Srinivasan P.K. (Zamorin's HSS, Thali), Nandu Krishnan (MGM HSS, Lakkattoor), Shyam Sasi K. (LBS HSS, Avittathur) and Girish K.M. (Government HSS, Ezhikkara).
