TIRUPATI: The heir-apparent to the Chief Minister's throne in Karnataka, H.D. Kumaraswamy is likely to visit Tirumala on Monday to offer prayers at the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara, according to political sources. The visit, if materialised, would be significant as it comes close on the heels of the end of the political impasse in Karnataka with Chief Minister Dharam Singh bowing out of office on Saturday after a prolonged political battle with the JDS-BJP combine paving the way of Kumaraswamy's installation in the seat.
Thanksgiving mission
Sources said that Kumaraswamy, who is set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of the State on February 3, could be taking a holy trek to the Tirumala hills with his followers in an apparent thanksgiving mission in advance before his actual appointment.
