KARIMNAGAR : Government Whip D Sridhar Babu has demanded that the TDP deputy leader in the Assembly T Devender Goud apologise to the people of Telangana for misleading them on the irrigation projects in the region. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Mr. Sridhar said, "The TDP leaders are shedding crocodile tears for the cause of Telangana." He flayed the TDP leaders for organising the padayatra demanding completion of projects when there was good progress. He alleged that the TDP had neglected the projects of the region by just spending Rs 3,851 crores during their nine-years of administration. Within one year, the Congress had spent Rs 13,000 crores for the completion the projects in the region, he said. About 65 per cent of the SRSP flood flow canal project was completed following the initiatives taken by the Government. He said that the Government had allocated Rs. 408 crores for the Sripada Sagar project. He also alleged that the TRS had emerged because of negligence shown to the Telangana region by the TDP government. To a query, Mr. Sridhar said that the Government was committed to provide Telangana region's due share in the allocation of Godavari river waters and there was no question of discrimination to the region.
