HYDERABAD: The Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) of Hyderabad is hosting the 27th National YWCA Convention 2006 at Jeedimetla from January 30 to February 3. The theme of the convention is `Leading change: making a difference.' YWCA members meet once in four years for the national convention and delegates from 85 local associations get together to deliberate on the concerns, chalk out the plan of action and focus for the next quadrennial, Della Godfrey, former MLA and former president of YWCA, Hyderabad, said in a press release. Some issues that the YWCA intends to strengthen its work in are female foeticide-related legislations and their implementation, increasing violence against women, denial of educational and health rights to the girl child. A meeting will be held at YWCA, Secunderabad, on February 1.
