Selected for Undemane Award

S. R. Vignaraj

MANGALORE: S.R. Vignaraj, a specialist in the research of manuscripts at Manjunatheswara Samskriti Samshodana Prathisthana, Dharmasthala, has been selected for Undemane Award for 2005, a release said.

The award will be presented to him by Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji of Ramachandrapura Math, Hosnagar, at a function at Guruuvayanakere on February 6. The award was instituted after Undemane Shambu Bhat in 1996. Mr. Vignaraj will be the tenth person to receive this award.

He has edited three books on research of manuscripts. Mr. Vignaraj has also done research on Sanskrit Jain poets of Karnataka.

This fetched him Ph.D. degree from Mangalore University.
