Stona fair from February 1 to 5

Bangalore: The seventh edition of Stona Fair, the international exhibition of granites and stones, will get under way from February 1 to 5 at the Bangalore Palace grounds here. The fair that occupies an important place in the international calendar of events will have nearly 500 exhibitors, including 12 from overseas.

All India Granites and Stone Association president Munavar Basha said features of the fair will be the buyer-seller meet, artisan promotion programme, seminar on geology, mines safety and environment and a stone display centre. Association past president Y.R. Shah said the buyer-seller meet had the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation. Last year, the meet generated business of over $ 500 million.
