CNG leakage checking centres

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Transport Corporation is starting CNG Leakage Checking Centres at six of its terminals across the Capital from Monday for checking CNG leakage in both its own and private buses.

The facility would be available at Nehru Place, Hauz Khas, Raja Garden, Mangol Puri, Najafgarh and Mayur Vihar terminals all seven days a week from 8-30 a.m. to 5 p.m.. The private operators will have to pay Rs 500 per bus for the checks.

The Corporation said it will also issue a certificate which will be valid for a period of three months from the date of issue. In the case of a leakage, however, a defect report mentioning the leakage point will be issued to the operator who would then be able to bring the vehicle for rechecking after attending to the defect.

The checks, the DTC said, are mandatory for all as permits will not be renewed for private buses till the quarterly checking certificate issued by DTC are produced in the State Transport Authority along with the permit renewal request.
