Firing incident
The incident occurred around 12-30 a.m. when Srinivasan, a resident of North Avenue, was on his way home after watching a film in a Paharganj cinema hall. He was crossing Mandir Marg when two persons intercepted him and at gunpoint asked him to hand over the valuables, at which Srinivasan offered resistance. The miscreants then opened fire at Srinivasan, but the bullet went past grazing his palm. He raised an alarm, following which the culprits fled from the scene.
Tyres deflated
The incident came to light on Sunday morning when the residents noticed that tyres of their vehicles had been deflated. Enquiries revealed that some people posing as policemen had deflated the tyres late on Saturday night. When private security guards on night patrol object to it, the miscreants said they were doing so for a particular reason. The police suspect that it was the handiwork of some mischievous elements who did so to stop illegal parking on roadsides.
