Word of caution for financial journalists

CHENNAI: An `awesome responsibility' rests on financial journalists in view of the `commercial revolution' marked by `velocity, volume, variety and versatility' of transactions in the emerging borderless world, said columnist and former civil servant, B. S. Raghavan. Addressing the delegates at a workshop on the capital market, organised for the benefit of financial journalists by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) here last week, Mr. Raghavan urged them to write pithy reports in view of the dwindling attention span of readers. The Chairman of SEBI, M. Damodaran, introduced Mr. Raghavan.
