ALL ATTENTION: Pupils of TTD's Sri Venkateswara Vedapatasala listening intently to expert lectures at the 23rd Veda Sastra Agama Vidwat Sadas at Tirumala on Monday.
TIRUMALA: The five-day Sri Venkateswara Veda Sastra and Agama seminar began on a grand note on Monday at the TTD-run S.V. Vedapatasala, Dharmagiri. More than 50 renowned scholars from different parts of the country participated. TTD Executive officer A.P.V. Narayana Sarma, who presided over the inaugural function, said that the present TTD board of trustees is extending its support in toto for the protection and preservation of the Vedas and sastras. Brahmasri Gullapalli Anjaneya Salakshna Ghanapati, who participated in the function as a special invitee, said that the teacher should be strict and impartial while imparting education and should enforce strict discipline while in the classroom. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor of Rajasthan Sanskrit University K.V. Ramakrishnamacharyulu said that the TTD Vedapatasala has a unique distinction of having produced several eminent Sanskrit scholars who in course of time have earned laurels in the field of sastras and puranas.The Vice-Chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, Tirupathi, K.E.Govindan advised the management to conduct examinations in the Alankara Sastra on par with other sastras.
