Multimedia campaign begins

TIRUNELVELI: The Minister for Adi Dravida Welfare, C. Karuppasamy, inaugurated a month-long multimedia campaign and the rural youth sports meet at Sankarankovil on Sunday with the objective of highlighting the achievements of the State Government after Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, assumed office in May 2001.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Karuppasamy, said the multimedia campaign and the rural youth sports meet were being conducted in all 385 panchayat unions with the idea of creating awareness among the public about the welfare measures being implemented by the State Government.Besides disbursing welfare assistance, the minister also inaugurated new government hostels constructed by the Department of Adi Draivda Welfare at Sankarankovil, Sernthamaram and Kuruvikulam for boys and girls.
