ANANTAPUR: With the fear of their elders' refusal to their love two youths in love ended life by consuming sleeping pills in an ashram here on Monday. According to the police, Chandramouli (22) from a washermen's family and Malika (20), a Muslim girl, were both residents of Raninagar. While Malika had completed her nursing course, Chandramouli was pursuing lab technician's course. They both went to an ashram in the Housing Board Colony here on the pretext of offering prayers and consumed sleeping pills.
Shifted to hospital
Finding both in an unconscious state, ashram functionaries informed the police and they were shifted to the General Hospital here. While the girl was declared brought dead, the boy died later. Nellore: A couple belonging to the Kavali town allegedly committed suicide by jumping off a moving bus at Venumbaka village of D.V. Satram mandal on Monday afternoon. According to police, I. Anandachari (48) and Nirmalamma (38) offered prayers at Chengalamma temple, Sullurpet, on Sunday and stayed there for the night. On Monday they boarded a private bus originating from Chennai. While the vehicle was nearing Venumbaka village, the husband suddenly jumped from the bus and the wife followed suit. Both of them died on the spot. The bodies were sent for postmortem at Naidupet and D V Satram SI P. Venkateswara Rao is investigating.
