Hottest destination of IT world

Kochi is the hottest destination of the IT world, vouchsafes the New York-based NRK Dilip Vellodi.

Talking to scribes in Kochi, he however hastened to add that the fact that he hailed from the State had no role in his company, Sutherland Global Services, choosing Kochi to set up their facility. As Chairman and CEO of the company, his personal bias in no way can influence the company in selecting the geographical location to set up an outsourcing facility. However, he said that Kerala produced the largest number of engineering and other graduates and such a human talent pool is a ready bank for any BPO firm.

Industries Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju described the decision of the U.S. BPO major setting shop in Kochi as a "big catch" for the State Government.
