A `high-powered' campaign

Public, who visited the multi-media campaign organised here for the past four days, had a rare opportunity of having a glimpse of some of the rare articles in the stalls put up by various Central Government departments. Besides the banks, insurance companies and the BSNL, the Department of Defence, Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited and Indian Space Research Organisation have established their stalls, which drew a heavy crowd.

For the first time, the military had exhibited some of their artillery pieces while the Navy's INS Kattabomman had displayed the models of a submarine and an aircraft carrier.

The Indian Air Force (IAF), with the help of a laptop, explained various activities and exercises of the IAF personnel and the combat flying machines, which received a good reception from the public.

The NPCIL's Koodankulam Nuclear Power Project had exhibited a model of the nuclear reactors under construction with the Russian assistance.
