Career fair with spiritual orientation

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: Roots and Wings organised a career orientation fair with emphasis on spiritual, physical and mental wellbeing at St. Ebbas School, Mylapore, on Sunday. Activities included counselling sessions, guided browsing of the Internet and career aptitude test.

B. Ganesh Kumar, director, said the organisation was founded to bridge the growing generation gap and consequent loss of values. Which explains why the fair included spiritual counselling by members of the Art of Living.

A former member of the Interpol delivered a lecture on drug abuse among schoolchildren. Members of Sneha advised parents and students on handling exam anxiety.

"We want to make children aware of the various kinds of counselling available to them," Mr. Kumar said.

Roots and Wings organises programmes for corporate groups, teachers and young people and for children in association with schools. The fair drew children from various schools and organisations for the underprivileged.
