K.A. Jalihal passes away

BANGALORE: K.A. Jalihal, retired Registrar, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, passed away here on Monday. He was 78.

He served as the first Registrar of the UAS, Bangalore, and Director of Extension and Dean of the university.

Under his leadership, the university conducted a large number of campaigns and demonstrations to educate farmers on the use fertilizers in Bangalore Rural district, where the land is mainly dry.

He served as the Director of Extension of the university for 15 years.
