Johnson scores a hat-trick

HYDERABAD: Left-back Johnson's hat-trick fashioned Dhanraj XI's 4-1 win over Rainbow XI (Ramakrishnapuram) in the 10th Bolarum Challenge Cup football tournament at Bolarum here on Tuesday.

Right-half Rock put Dhanraj XI in the lead in the 17th minute. Johnson struck in the 33rd, 51st and 54th minutes to complete the tally for the winner.

The consolation goal for the loser came through Nagaraj in the 65th minute when he converted a penalty.

Big win for Nav Bharath

Nav Bharath scored a 7-2 win over Youth League in the A-1 division league hockey championship at Begumpet Police Stadium here.

Winger Chandan Singh, Suresh Singh and Sai scored for Nav Bharath in the first session while Rakesh and Kripakaran reduced the margin before the break.

But in the second session, Nav Bharath scored four more goals through Prakash Singh, Sanjay Singh and Chandan Singh (2).

Narrow win for Rayalaseema

Rayalaseema recorded a four-run win over President's XI in the Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy memorial invitation cricket tournament at Dhone on Tuesday, according to information received here.

The scores:

Rayalaseema 120 bt President's XI 116 in 34.3 overs.

Easy win for Pratyush

Pratyush of Tata Consultancy Services drubbed Sharat of SMD 8-0 in the first round of the TCS Cup corporate tennis tournament here.

The results: Pratyush (TCS) bt Sharat (SMD) 8-0; Sudhir (Ivy) bt Iqbal (TCS) 8-0; U. Varma (DPS) bt Vineet (TCS) 8-7(7); U. Srinath (Bajaj Allianz bt K.Vijay (Satyam) 8-2; Shailender Gupta (Delloite) bt Srikanth (TCS) 8-7(4).

Inter-district triathlon

Triathlon Association of Andhra Pradesh will organise the 15th inter-district championship for men and women at Visakhapatnam from February 4 to 5.
