Quarterfinalists spotted

Warangal: Kerala, Karnataka, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana boys and girls moved into the last eight stage of the 28th National sub-junior volleyball championship here on Tuesday.

The quarterfinal line-up in the boys' section is as follows:

Tamil Nadu vs. UP, Punjab vs. Haryana, UP vs. Rajasthan, Kerala vs. Karnataka.

In the girls' section it will be: Haryana vs. Karnataka, Andhra vs. Bengal, Kerala vs. Punjab and UP vs. Maharashtra.

Haryana's protest against the Tamil Nadu girls' team was upheld as the team had violated the VFI rules.

So the Control Committee cancelled its results against Bihar, Punjab and Orissa.

The main group results: Boys: Gr. A: TN bt Jharkhand 25-8, 25-10, 25-10; TN bt Goa 25-22, 25-8, 25-9; Rajasthan bt Services 25-14, 24-26, 25-18, 25-19; Rajasthan bt Bengal 25-20, 27-25, 25-19; Gr. B: Karnataka bt J & K 25-11, 25-17, 25-7; Karnataka bt Chhattisgarh 25-14, 25-13, 25-13; Gr. C: UP bt Punjab 25-22, 25-17, 25-20; Punjab bt Bihar 24-26, 25-22, 25-23, 16-25, 16-14; Gr. D: Haryana bt Delhi 25-16, 25-21, 25-17; Kerala bt Orissa 25-16, 25-11, 25-13.

Girls: Gr. A: Haryana bt Bihar 25-8, 25-12, 25-8; Punjab bt Bihar 25-14, 21-25, 25-10, 15-25, 15-11; Haryana bt Tamil Nadu 25-23, 25-17, 25-20; Gr.
