Top orthopaedic surgeons to attend meet from tomorrow

BELLARY: The four-day 24th Karnataka State Surgical Conference, organised jointly by Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Bellary Chapter and Vijayanagar Branch, and the Department of Surgery, Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), Bellary, will begin at the VIMS auditorium here on Thursday.

Renowned surgeons will be presenting their papers on various aspects of surgeries, the advancement and latest techniques in the field and so on, according to V.V. Chiniwalar, president-elect State unit of the association. A teleconference showing endoscope procedures has been arranged. It will be telecast live from the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad. Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Vice-Chancellor B.S. Prabhakaran will inaugurate the workshop. G. Pompanagowd will preside over the programme. Association State unit president K.V. Ashok Kumar, Suresh Snghvi from United Kingdom, Gajanana Hegde of Mumbai, Beerappa, A.Y.Chari, all from Hyderabad, D. Srinivas of New Delhi, Shivadavamani of Coimbatore and Vivek Jawali will present papers.
