NEW DELHI: One of the suspected accomplices of the two Bangladesh nationals allegedly belonging to Harkat-ul-Jehad-e-Islami (HuJI) who were arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi police at Shastri Park in North-East Delhi with a PETN consignment on January 24 has been detained by the Central Delhi police. He is being interrogated by a joint team of intelligence officials and the police. The suspect, whose name has been not revealed yet, was picked up on Monday following a tip-off that he had links with the alleged HuJI militants, Said-Ul (30) and his cousin, Sohed-Ul. While Said-Ul and Sohed-Ul have been sent to judicial custody, the police are trying to verify the antecedents of the suspect, reportedly a Bangladesh national. The ongoing probe into the network of HuJI militants has revealed that during the past several months the outfit has been trying to recruit more and more sleeper agents in the Capital to set up base. These sleeper agents are being imparted training in handling of weapons and explosives either in Bangladesh or in Pakistan and are sent back through the Indo-Bangladesh border to wait for further instruction, said a police officer.
