Barreto shines for Mahindra

Margao : A controversial second half goal by Jose Ramirez Barreto enabled Federation Cup champion Mahindra United to edge out a fighting Fransa Pax 2-1 in a ONGC Cup 10th NFL match at the Nehru Stadiumhere on Monday.

Barreto scored for Mahindras in the 18th and 82nd minute, both through penalty goals, after Ivan D' Silva had put Fransa ahead in the 10th minute.

Mahindras, with 10 points after this win, is on par with table-topper Mohd. Sporting, while bottom-placed Fransa remains on two points. — UNI
