Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday issued notices for April 19 to Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, his son Raninder Singh and others on a petition seeking a CBI probe into the alleged violation of foreign exchange rules (FERA) by the Chief Minister's son through a company named Intranet. The petition, filed by senior Akali leader Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and some other Akali MPs, also questioned the competence of the State Government in appointing the Nehra Commission to go into the alleged illegalities, stating that only the Union Government could constitute a commission of inquiry in a matter having international ramification because of the involvement of some foreign nationals in the establishment of the company. The matter was earlier disposed of some time back by the High Court on the ground that the Nehra Commission probe report was tabled in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. The petitioners have again approached the court alleging absence of action against the accused. The other respondents included the Union Finance Ministry and its Directorate of Enforcement. UNI
