MANGALORE: The city police on Monday raided a cyber cafe at Kankanady Circle and arrested four persons on charges of displaying/viewing pornographic material on their computers. Those arrested are Ajith of Pallipuram in Kasaragod, owner of the cyber cafe, and Oswald Soans, Sham Ahmad and Ajamal Mohammed Ali, customers from Mangalore and Vadagara. Police have seized six personal computers and their peripheralsand Rs. 435. On inspection of the systems, it was found that Ajith had allegedly saved pornographic video clippings in the server of the cyber cafe and was making them accessible to customers through the local area network. The Mangalore East (Kadri) police have registered a case . The accused were produced before a jurisdictional court and remanded to judicial custody
Arrested
The Sullia police during the course of investigating a theft case received information about a suspect Jaykar Kotian of Pachchanady, Mangalore. A police team arrested Kotian at the Puttur KSRTC bus stand. On interrogation, it was found that he was involved in a number of cases of theft of suitcases in buses, a release on Tuesday said. He allegedly operated on the Mangalore Sullia route.
