HYDERABAD: The Dalai Lama has offered to provide necessary assistance to the State Government, including deputation of Tibetan Buddhist scholars, required to establish a Buddhist learning centre. In a letter to Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, he said the themes of Buddhism, as conveyed in Sanskrit, particularly Nagarjuna's contribution, could be studied in depth at the learning centre. Dalai Lama conveyed his "deep gratitude" to Dr. Reddy and the Government for the "generous help" in providing necessary infrastructure and elaborate facilities for holding the Kalachakra empowerment at Amaravati." He appreciated the interest and contribution of Ministers and officials for the success of Kalachakra. "I am very encouraged by the warmth and enthusiasm of the local people, particularly those who had come to see the events at Amaravati," the letter said.
