BANGALORE: The S. Venkataraman Committee overseeing professional college admissions has reportedly taken objection to the entrance test to be conducted by minority institutions for admission to postgraduate (PG) medical and dental courses. Under fire is the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) to be conducted by the Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority Colleges Association on February 19. The panel is learnt to have declared the test invalid, and that students could not be admitted to the PG courses on the basis of the test scores. However, the association has decided to go ahead with its test, stating that it had the Supreme Court's approval to conduct the entrance examination. It has also opted not to depend on Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences to conduct the test.
Government seats
Meanwhile, the health university has reiterated that its Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET) for admission to government seats in various PG medical and dental colleges would be conducted on February 12. It was earlier scheduled for February 5.
