KOCHI: The District Collector has fixed the transportation costs of LPG cylinders for domestic use. The rates were fixed by the Collector following complaints that cooking gas distributing agencies were charging more amount from consumers as transportation cost. The charges are as follows: Rs.10 up to five km outside the limit for free distribution; Rs.15 for distance between five and ten km outside the free distribution zone and Rs.20 above ten km. The bills issued with the cylinders supplied beyond the limits of free-distribution zone should contain the transportation cost and gas agencies should publicly display the distribution area allocated to them and the free-distribution zone certified by the oil company.
