NEW DELHI: In its "show cause notice" issued to Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on January 27, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has found major violations at her B-2 Nizamuddin (East) residence. The notice issued by the civic body's Building Department states that the "property appears to have been constructed not in conformity with the sanctioned plan and thereof/not in consonance with the relevant provisions of the DMC Act, 1957, and the building by-laws made thereunder". The details of violations are -- "excess coverage/deviation against the sanction building plan No.325/B/28 from basement floor to second floor and infringement in setback and unauthorised construction at terrace floor i.e. third floor of one room of ACC sheet shade with toilet and one ACC sheet shade (three sides open)". "You are, therefore, directed to show cause as to why appropriate action, as per the relevant provisions of the DMC Act should not be taken against such violations in the property under reference," it states. "You are required to send your reply along with documentary evidence in support of your contention within three working days from the receipt of this show case notice failing which further action would be taken in the matter as per law," the notice adds.
