dated February 2, 1956: U.N. Secretary General

Mr. Dag Hammarskjoeld, UN Secretary-General, arrived in Bangalore on February 1 by a special UN aircraft. He was received at the Hindustan airport by Mr. K. Hanumanthaiya, Chief Minister of Mysore, and Dr. P.S. Lokanathan, Executive Secretary to the ECAFE. Mr. Hammarskjoeld told pressmen that he would meet Prime Minister Nehru, both in Bangalore and in Delhi.
