Cloth dolls make a comeback

Dolls handmade from cloth and finished by master craftsmen from Gujarat are on show at an exhibition organised by the Gujarat State Handloom, Handicrafts and Industrial Cooperative Federation at the Kollam Jawahar Bal Bhavan auditorium.

At one stage, it was thought that the art of making such dolls had gone extinct.

The Gujarat Government has, reportedly, revived the art after a gap of 50 years, it was said at a press conference in Kollam on Wednesday by a representative of the Cooperative Federation.
