Philatelic exhibition at Urdu Hall from today

HYDERABAD: A philatelic exhibition will be held at Urdu Hall, Himayatagar, from February 2 to 4.

Organised by the city division of post offices, it will be inaugurated by district Collector Arvind Kumar. B.K. Nagpal, philatelist, will conduct a workshop to explain the basics of philately and educate children on the techniques of displaying stamps.

Yesodhara Menon, Postmaster-General, Hyderabad region, will release special covers on Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Sri Devi (Women's) Engineering College and J.B Educational Society on February 3.

A stamp design contest will be held for schoolchildren on February 3 and a quiz contest will be held on February 4.

Admission to the exhibition is free and for students a philatelic counter will be opened at the venue where they can open a philatelic deposit account with Rs. 200 to get stamps delivered to their homes.
