Film promos evoke viewer interest

Sasidharan Paravoor's `Nottam,' which has been winning much critical acclaim, seems to be one of the much-awaited February releases in Malayalam.

The promos of the movie, which were being aired by one of the television channels recently, have evoked much viewer interest in the film. In his second movie, after `Kaattu Vannu Vilichappol,' Sasidharan Paravoor deftly uses the traditional art form of Koodiyattom to delineate the emotional journeys and conflicts in the life of Vasu Chakyar, portrayed by Nedumudi Venu and Saraswati Nangyar, portrayed by the real-life Nangyarkoothu artiste, Margi Sathi.

The movie must hold both tragic as well as joyous associations for Margi Sathi, for it was during the shooting of this film that she lost her husband and reputed Edakka artiste, Subramaniam Potti, in a freak accident.

Apart from Nedumudi and Sathi, Jagathy Sreekumar gives an impressive performance as a Chakyar.
