Be it a ration card or a driving licence, getting a change of address is a difficult task. For, the administrative hassles are many. If this is the case of a common man, the picture is no different for officials in the Transport Department when they seek no objection certificates (NOC) from their counterparts in northern States for effecting changes in registration certificate. There are many cases in the Regional Transport Offices, which have been put in cold storage for years for want of NOCs. The department officials rue their misfortune for not being able to get the NOC even after repeated reminders through mail, telegrams and telephonic conversations. Sometimes, unable to face the music from the public, the staff members get a requisition letter from them and effect changes in the registration certificate. Linking all transport departments in the country can solve this perennial problem. Access becomes easy as it facilitates the staff to get relevant details from wherever they want, suggested a department official.
