dated February 3, 1956: Bhoodan Pada Yatra

Amidst chanting of "Jai Jai Bhoodan," the President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, inaugurated at Cape Comorin on February 2 a Bhoodan Pada Yatra, led by Dr. Sushila Nayyar, which will converge ultimately at Wardha, 20 months hence, spreading the message of Bhoodan on the way. In pleasant morning weather of the Land's End, the President walked a few yards leading a batch of Sarvodaya workers on the "non-violent path" for the "creation of a new order of society." Mr. Pyarelal, who was Mahatma Gandhi's Private Secretary, is also accompanying the Bhoodan squad, which will reach Sevagram on October 2, 1957.
