Pune prison officials are against my confession, alleges Telgi

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Two days before he is to make a confessional statement, Abdul Kareem Telgi, main accused in the fake stamp paper cases, has alleged that the Pune Central Prison officials were dissuading him from doing so. Appearing before a special court here through videoconferencing, he alleged on Thursday that Jnaneshwar Jadhav, senior jailer at the Yerwada Central Prison, and three constables were keeping a watch on him after a Mumbai special court permitted him to make the statement before a Pune magistrate on February 4. "Mr. Jadhav has threatened to shift me to Ratnagiri if I go ahead with the confession. He has also threatened to stop the facility of prison interviews," Telgi alleged.
