Steel plant union gets recognition

Staff Reporter

VISAKHAPATNAM: A function was conducted by the Personnel Department of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to accord recognition to Visakha Steel Employees' Congress (VSEC) -- which won the union elections -- at Ukkunagaram on Thursday.

The letter of recognition was handed over by VSP Chairman and Managing Director Y. Siva Sagar Rao to INTUC-affiliated VSEC general secretary Mantri Rajasekhar and president Gandham Venkat Rao.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rao called upon the employees to strive hard for earning a big name and fame for VSP. He also told them that escalation of raw material costs and reduction of steel prices were the present challenges before the management and appreciated the positive attitude of the union towards employees and management.

VSP Directors P.K. Bishnoi (finance), K.A. Naidu (personnel), H.S. Chhatwal (commercial), Chief Vigilance Officer M.K. Das, Executive Director (personnel) A.K. Banerjee and others were present.
