EXPRESSING SOLIDARITY: CITU activists burning an effigy of the Government protesting against the move to privatise airports in Visakhapatnam on Thursday
VISAKHAPATNAM: Extending its support to the agitating Airports Authority of India (AAI) employees opposing privatisation and condemning the lathicharge on them at Mumbai, the CITU on Thursday staged a protest at Durgalamma Temple junction in the One Town area. CITU leaders who led the protest deplored the attempts to privatise the Delhi and Mumbai airports. Because of its "anti-people'' policies, the NDA had experienced. If the UPA Government followed the same policies, workers and people would reject them, CITU district vice-presdient M.B. Radhakrishna said addressing the protestors. An effigy of "privatisation'' was burnt. CITU leaders M. Subba Rao, Poleswara Rao and Md. Salim participated.
