JD(S) to focus on regional issues

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Janata Dal (Secular) is keen on addressing regional issues in its new coalition Government with the BJP that will come into existence from Friday, according to the party's State unit president N. Thippanna.

He told presspersons at a dinner meeting convened by the party at Hotel Atria here on Thursday that the meeting was meant to discuss Friday's programme. About his party planning to go regional in future, Mr. Thippanna said: "The party has a national outlook. Regional parties and coalition are a political reality. We are keen on addressing immediate regional issues without compromising with our secular and national outlook."

Over 30 MLAs attended the meeting.
