Kerosene, LPG prices will not be hiked: Murli Deora

NEW DELHI: According "highest priority" to safeguard the interests of the weakest and vulnerable sections in society, Petroleum Minister Murli Deora has ruled out increasing prices of kerosene and cooking gas.

At a meeting with CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury on Thursday, he said prices of such essential commodities should be affordable to consumers, especially the poor. They discussed the prices of petroleum products in view of the rising international prices. Mr. Deora said solutions to restore the financial health of oil marketing companies would soon be found.
