India slips to third place

Dubai: India's Test series defeat against Pakistan has pushed it down to the third spot in the latest LG ICC Test Championship table. Skipper Rahul Dravid slipped to sixth place from fourth, dropping out of the top five list.

The 1-0 loss in the series reduced India's rating from 115 points to 111 and dropped it to third place below England (113). Although Pakistan remained in fourth place, it gained five rating points and stood at 108 points, just three behind India. India's only consolation is that it will have a chance to regain the second spot when it goes head-to-head with England in March.

LG ICC Test championship ranking/team rating: 1. Australia (129 points), 2. England (113), 3. India (111), 4. Pakistan (108), 5. New Zealand (100), 6. South Africa (99), 7. Sri Lanka (96) 8. West Indies (73), 9. Zimbabwe (27) and 10. Bangladesh (5).
