Letters to the Editor
The editorial, `Now, a political Prime Minister' (Feb. 3), is virtually a wake-up call for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Implied in it is that keen expectations many a time lead to great disappointments. Whether there will be a course correction or not, you have rightly chosen to give expression to the feelings of a vast majority.
K.D. Viswanaathan,
* * * Dr. Singh's press conference on Wednesday is proof that he has come of age. He has become assertive. A welcome development indeed.
Kallay Indu,
* * * Dr. Singh has established the credibility of both himself and the Government at the Centre. By mentioning the way Sonia Gandhi and he complement each other, he has highlighted that the UPA is here to stay despite its problems.
Prahlad Krishnamurthi,
* * * Prime Minister Singh has become very comfortable in his position. He has taken a challenging task in his stride during a critical period.
O.B. Nair,
* * * The internationally renowned economist in Dr. Singh has disappeared and in his place is a successful politician, "adept at evasion and obfuscation." The press, on Wednesday, saw a Prime Minister as street smart as any other.
K.R.A. Narasiah,
