NEW DELHI: A one-of-its-kind international pottery exhibition titled "Elements" is now on at Visual Arts Gallery here. The eight-day-long exhibition has been organised by Delhi Blue Pottery Trust.

Giving their own interpretation to the common theme are 19 Indian and foreign ceramic artists who have weaved together a riveting story by showcasing bowls and platters in a variety of styles and techniques.

On the sidelines of the exhibition are interesting workshops, lectures and seminars.

Lady Plaxy Arthur from the British High Commission and noted danseuse Geeta Chandran gave the go-ahead to the show on Wednesday in which the art fraternity, connoisseurs and the glitterati turned up in good strength to be treated to the visual delights on display.

"Studio ceramics is an art form at par with any of the more acknowledged and recognised form. And it is our continuous endeavour to expose art lovers to the beauty of ceramic work through international art shows like these," said Delhi Blue Pottery Trust trustee Anuradha Ravindranath.

Indian ceramic artists participating in the exhibition include Abhay Pandit, Ange Peter, Jyotsna Bhat, Leena Batra, Vineet Kacher and Vinod Daroz, while artists from abroad include Kaif Ghaznavi (Pakistan), Adrian Knusel (Switzerland), Ana Fitzpatrick (Italy), Greg Daly (Australia), Jane Gibson (Britain), Janet Mansfield (Australia), Margaret Schwab (Switzerland), Marcio Mattos (Britain), Richard Brandt (U.S.), Roland Summer (Austria) and Tim Hurn (Britain). The Delhi Blue Pottery Trust has also organised international shows like "Water" and "Peace and Harmony" in the past.
