KANNUR: The State Government has decided to engage a senior Supreme Court counsel to appear on behalf of the Hindu Religious and Charities Endowment (HR&CE) department in the appeal filed by Parassinikkadavu Sree Muthappan Temple authorities against the High Court direction on counting of collections in the temple. The Parassinikkadavu Sree Muthappan Seva Sanghom, which secured favourable High Court judgment in a case seeking redressal of alleged irregularities in the counting of hundi collections in the temple, said here on Friday that the Government had accepted its plea for a senior Supreme Court advocate on behalf of the department to appear in the appeal case filed in the Supreme Court. A fax message had been sent from the Advocate General's office to the Law Officer at the Office of the Resident Commissioner in New Delhi to make arrangements to engage one of senior advocates K.K. Venugopal and Parasaran to appear in the case.
