PVR Cinema opens multiplex New multiplex in Hyderabad

Three screens opened at Hyderabad Central


  • Two more screens will be added in the city by the year-end
  • It has distinct ambience and seating facility with eating joints
  • Food items will be served on order in the theatre itself
  • Tickets for screening could be booked online or over phone

    HYDERABAD: Hyderabad got its second full-fledged multiplex with one of the leading multiplex chain in the country, PVR Cinema throwing open three of its screens at the Hyderabad Central here on Thursday.

    Two more would be added by the year-end.

    With 50 screens all over the country, including the nation's biggest multiplex in Bangalore, PVR Cinema plans to add 25 more by the year-end, including the two in Hyderabad, according to executive director of PVR Cinema Sanjeev Kumar Bijli.

    Speaking to newspersons after the launch of its facility, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar said PVR was in the process of commissioning a seven-screen centre in Chennai, a 10-screen centre in Ludhiana besides plans to set up 22 screens in Mumbai.

    The expansion plan would also cover Delhi, Indore, Gurgaon, Lucknow, Aurangabad and Latur. "We would also like to foray into cities like Visakhapatnam," he said.
